The Project
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.
The Role
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the effective management, maintenance, and operation of construction plant and equipment on the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project. This role ensures all plant-related activities, including Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) and associated heavy plant equipment, are carried out safely, reliably, and cost-effectively in accordance with company policies, project requirements, and statutory regulations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance and logistics strategies for plant and equipment.
- Manage the selection, procurement, mobilisation, and demobilisation of plant.
- Lead the plant maintenance team to ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standards and complies with safety regulations.
- Monitor plant performance and implement improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
- Liaise with project teams to forecast plant requirements and ensure timely availability to avoid delays.
- Develop and manage the plant budget, including forecasting and tracking plant-related costs

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards.

Provide technical advice and support to project teams on plant capabilities and limitations.
About You

Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent qualification.

Proven experience in TBM tunnelling projects and/or large civil infrastructure works.

In-depth knowledge of mechanical plant systems used in tunnelling, shaft works, and underground services.

Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, conveyors, ventilation, and dewatering plant.

Competent in technical reporting, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.

Demonstrated strong safety culture with hands-on site experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, CAD, and project engineering software/tools.
