The Project
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.
The Role
The Senior Project Engineer - Plant is responsible for overseeing the effective management, maintenance, and operation of construction plant and equipment.
This role ensures that all plant-related activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, project requirements, and statutory regulations, with a focus on safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsabilities
- Develop and implement plant and equipment maintenance and logistic strategies
- Manage the selection, procurement, mobilization, and demobilization of plant.
- Lead the plant maintenance team to ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standards and is compliant with safety regulations.
- Monitor plant performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Liaise with project teams to forecast plant requirements and ensure timely availability to avoid project delays.
- Develop and manage the plant budget, including forecasting and tracking of plant-related costs.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety and maintenance standards.
- Provide technical advice and support to project teams regarding plant capabilities and limitations
About you
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in plant management within the construction industry, with a focus on tunnelling projects.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong technical knowledge of plant and equipment used in large-scale tunnelling and underground construction.
