The Project
The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031. The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.
The Role:
The Senior Project Engineer role will be responsible for the technical matters associated with the design, construction and delivery of construction works. This role will ensure best for project outcomes are achieved by collaborating with the Project Team. It will also manage all HSEQ, technical, commercial, leadership, team development and stakeholder interests
Responsibilities:
- Lead and promote the development of a positive safety culture across the Project
- Implement GMR’s and actively promote compliance
- Maintain focus on the critical path and ensure that non-critical activities are progressed so as not to become critical
- Monitor field production progress against budget quantities and budget cost and develop the forecasting of final cost for each cost code assigned as a responsibility
- Ensure the construction team adopts proactive management of community and environmental issues and effective liaison with external stakeholders
- Cascade knowledge of systems and processes, set the benchmark of what is expected and train/coach/mentor junior members of the team
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with substantial experience (typically 8+ years) in construction on large infrastructure projects
- Proven track record in managing complex construction and engineering works, preferably within tunnel, road, or rail infrastructure environments
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative, practical engineering solutions under pressure
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities, with a collaborative mindset
- Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in all aspects of work
- Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers and working effectively within a multidisciplinary alliance team environment
