The Project
The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031. The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.
The Role :
As a Site Engineer on the T2D Alliance you will provide onsite and office-based support to ensure the successful delivery of designated scopes of work.
Reporting to a Project Engineer and working closely with Supervisors, Contractors, HSE team and commercial team, you will focus on safety, constructability, cost, quality, productivity, and subcontractor performance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure construction works comply with technical specifications, relevant legislation, project approvals, and risk management processes
- Assist in planning and programming site activities, including short and mid-term scheduling, and support the Project Manager with approvals and coordination
- Contribute to on-site design implementation, recommend constructability improvements, and resolve engineering issues using sound professional judgement
- Support project financial performance by managing budgets, verifying subcontractor claims and variations, and assisting with cost control and estimating
- Maintain accurate project documentation including drawing registers, and report on performance, compliance, non-conformances, and risk controls
- Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental standards are met in line with Alliance policies and procedures
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Site engineering experience, preferably on major infrastructure or civil projects
- Proficient in relevant software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite and document management tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to facilitate meetings, toolbox talks, and coordinate with site teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
