The Project

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

 

The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.

The Role

As a precast site engineer, you will be required to coordinate precast concrete works during the construction phase of each project, resolving technical issues and drive efficiency in design and manufacture of precast concrete.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Coordinate and liaise with respective construction teams to develop Precast Concrete Design solutions to facilitate project delivery
  • Actively participate in developing cost optimised and constructable Precast Concrete solutions
  • Continued focus on optimising design solutions, prioritising reuse of proven designs and standardisation of precast elements
  • Support the construction teams to manage suppliers of Precast Concrete to achieve time, cost, and quality outcomes
  • Lead the resolution of technical issues associated with design detailing and manufacturing of Precast Concrete elements
  • Perform quality and compliance inspections of the facilities and products of Precast Concrete suppliers;
  • Proactively identify and report issues related to the design and supply of Precast Concrete to management
  • Liaise with construction teams and heavy lift specialists to identify issues and opportunities with detailing of Precast Concrete and drive continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes
  • Utilise effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource time management

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in precast concrete production, construction site operations, or structural engineering is preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, precast technology, and relevant industry standards.
  • Delivered on major civil infrastructure projects or similar
  • Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards and implications for project accountabilities
