The Project
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development
About the Role:
As the Stakeholder & Communications Director on the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project, you will lead the strategic direction, planning, and delivery of all stakeholder engagement and communications activities for South Australia's most complex and significant infrastructure project.
This executive level role will build and maintain trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including local communities, government bodies, industry partners and the media. Your expertise will help manage risks, navigate competing interests, respond to emerging issues, and shape public and stakeholder perception through clear, consistent, and transparent engagement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level strategic direction and solutions to complex and sensitive stakeholder management challenges and project risks
- Lead and manage key stakeholder relationships, including senior management, government departments and client representatives to support project delivery
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the project-wide (internal and external) communications and stakeholder engagement strategy, proactively identifying and mitigating risks
- Actively participate as a member of the alliance management team to align messaging and collaboration across the project
- Anticipate and navigate political, media, and communication challenges by understanding government priorities and negotiating mitigation strategies
- Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing communications and stakeholder team, fostering skills development and knowledge sharing
About you
- Tertiary qualification (Bachelor level) or relevant experience in fields such as public relations, journalism, stakeholder management, or marketing
- Minimum 8 years of experience in communications and stakeholder management for major infrastructure projects
- 10–15 years of multi-discipline experience, including communications and stakeholder relations
- Relevant experience working within major organisations in sectors such as government, consultancy, or related industries
- Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement principles and best practices within complex project environments
