The Project:

The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.

 

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

 

The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031.  The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.

The Role:

The Audit and Compliance Manager / Management Systems & Audit Lead is responsible for managing the project audit programme, including coordinating, leading, and reporting on all audit activities across the project.

 The role ensures effective implementation of audit processes, timely close-out of findings and corrective actions, ongoing compliance with contractual and project requirements, and the maintenance of management plans in accordance with contract obligations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • ­Develop, implement, and maintain the project audit programme and schedule, including internal management plan audits, process control verification (PCV) audits, supplier/subcontractor audits, and external/client audits.
  • ­Plan, coordinate, lead, report, and close out audits in collaboration with relevant subject matter experts (SMEs) and project stakeholders.
  • ­Manage audit findings, corrective actions, and close-out activities to ensure timely resolution and ongoing compliance with contractual and project requirements.
  • ­Act as the primary liaison for external audits conducted by the client, certifying/verifying bodies (CV), NOPs, regulators, and other third-party auditors.
  • ­Monitor compliance obligations and undertake gap analyses to verify alignment with contractual, regulatory, management system, and project requirements.
  • Maintain and monitor project management plans to ensure they remain current, compliant, and aligned with contract obligations and project delivery requirements.
  • ­Maintain accurate audit, compliance, and assurance records within project systems, including Soteria and PPW, and support planned versus actual reporting for monthly project reports.
  • ­Maintain auditor competency and training records and support the development and upskilling of personnel to strengthen the project auditor capability and resource pool.
  • ­Provide audit and compliance reporting, metrics, and trend analysis to support continuous improvement and effective project governance.
  • ­Support quality, assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the project to promote effective implementation of management systems and processes.

About You:

  • ­Tertiary qualification or diploma in Engineering, Science, Building, Construction, Quality Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • ­Minimum 10 years’ experience in Quality, Auditing, Assurance, or Compliance roles within major construction, infrastructure, engineering, or project delivery environments.
  • ­Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, including Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • ­Sound understanding of multidisciplinary project delivery environments, including ME&I, Civil, Structural, and Utilities disciplines.
  • ­Proficient in the use of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) such as Aconex or similar platforms.
  • ­Certified Lead Auditor qualification and/or Diploma in Auditing, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • ­Strong expertise in audit planning, execution, reporting, corrective action management, and close-out processes across internal and external audit programmes.
  • ­Proven experience managing complex audit schedules and coordinating audits involving clients, contractors, suppliers, and third-party stakeholders.
