The Project

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.

The role

As a Senior Traffic Engineer, your main responsibility will be to provide on-site traffic engineering services and technical support. This ensures the planning, implementation and maintenance of traffic management is carried out, according to specified guidelines. This role is based on site reporting to the Traffic Manager

Key Responsibilities.

  • Undertake minor adjustments on site and monitor these recommended changes to the traffic management plans to increase the ease and convenience of required works
  • Ensure traffic management control devices are ordered and supplied on time and when needed to assure the safety of the project engineers, road users and the general public
  • Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Traffic Manager
  • Demonstrate people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes
  • Work in collaboration with engineers and managers to interpret designs and work methodologies to identify traffic management needs and requirements.
  • Develop traffic management plans for all project work phases and locations ensuring the plans are in accordance with the relevant Acts, Standards and guidelines.
  • Develop relationships and liaise with key stakeholders to obtain relevant approvals for all traffic management plans.
  • Provide technical traffic engineering guidance to the project staff to endure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
  • Monitor temporary traffic management implementations to ensure they are implemented in accordance with approved traffic management plans and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.

About you

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Intimate understanding of the traffic resources required to facilitate both short term and long-term traffic management to TMR specification
  • Experience on tier 1 projects excess of $500M
  • Ability to Draft Traffic Guidance Schemes and Traffic Management Designs
  • Experience with implementing WZTM and AGTTM requirements
  • Ability to manage multi leading hands and work crews working in Proximity to Traffic
  • Extensive experience in a similar role within the traffic management field
  • Working in Proximity to Traffic
