Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Planner to join one of our Iconic Infrastructure projects based in Sydney, NSW. Reporting into the Planning & Controls Manager, you’ll be accountable for undertaking the process of planning, creating detailed programmes, and monitoring performance to deliver the best quality projects on time and on budget in accordance with John Holland procedures. 

 


Key Responsibilities include:

 

  • Understand and monitor design interfaces. Advise the design team of project logic and communicate amendments. Input into and review other sections/disciplines programmes where required.
  • ­Undertake planning duties for the project / construction team in close cooperation with the Project / Construction Manager.
  • ­Understand and monitor construction interfaces. Advise the construction team of project logic and communicate amendments. Input into and review other sections/disciplines programmes where required.
  • ­Assist in controlling change: review the sequencing drivers, such as resource constraints and other sequencing information to ensure they match the Engineering / Construction Manager’s intent and ensure the programme supports them. Identify,
  • Suggest and pursue mitigation actions to the programme.
  • ­Progress / Update the programme and produce weekly and monthly reports. Contribute to other control systems such as Earned Value (EV), delay analysis, early Warning or Risk as required.
  • ­Assist with other planning team tasks such as, what-if planning, as and when required.
  • ­Attend regular co-ordination meetings to provide technical and programming input and any other assistance necessary to ensure the satisfactory integration of the works with the works of others.
  • ­Coordinate with various teams i.e. design team, construction team & interface contractors to develop and maintain an Integrated program.

 


What You’ll Need to Succeed:

 

  • Tertiary degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines - Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture or Project Management, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years experience working in a Planner role in a project based role within the construction industry 
  • Use of planning software & tools such as Primavera Project Planning, Earned Value and Cash Flow Analysis
  • ­ Ability to use software such as 4D Modelling, BIM & other digital engineering packages, Schedule Risk Analysis, Program Forensic Analysis, Time Chainage Charts
