About Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Rail Stage 1 Project:
John Holland and Seymour Whyte have been engaged to deliver the Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Rail Upgrade (Stage 1) project. The project is set to increase the capacity and reliability of the North Coast Line, enabling more efficient travel and improved passenger and freight connections between the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Brisbane and beyond.
As construction of B2N gets under way, John Holland is actively looking for a talented Senior Finance Manager to join the team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Sunshine Coast project.
About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to lead the financial management of the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade project. This is a senior leadership role responsible for end‑to‑end financial governance, reporting, cost control and compliance on a major infrastructure project.
You will lead a team of finance specialists and partner closely with project leadership, joint venture partners and external stakeholders to ensure strong financial outcomes, effective risk management and compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a specialist finance team providing end‑to‑end financial management across the project
- Oversee all financial reporting, ensuring compliance with statutory, contractual and internal governance requirements
- Develop, implement and maintain project‑level accounting standards, policies, procedures and controls
- Lead project budgeting, forecasting, cost control and cash flow management activities
- Ensure accurate and timely month‑end reporting, including accruals, earned value reporting and partner reconciliations
- Prepare and present monthly payment claims, cash flow forecasts and risk and opportunity assessments
- Provide trusted financial and accounting advice to senior project stakeholders and joint venture partners
- Act as the escalation point for complex accounting, reporting and compliance matters
- Manage joint venture banking requirements, partner claims and payments
- Promote strong financial governance, accountability and continuous improvement across the project
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Lead performance management and development of direct and indirect reports
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline
- CA or CPA qualification (essential)
- Significant senior‑level finance management experience (approx. 10–12 years)
- Proven experience leading and developing professional finance teams
- Strong background in financial governance, reporting, budgeting and cost control
- Experience working in project‑based environments, ideally within construction or major infrastructure
- Experience in joint venture or complex stakeholder environments highly regarded
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership capability
