About the role & project

The Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade is a major Queensland infrastructure project delivering long‑term benefits to both passenger and freight networks along the North Coast Line. The project is designed to improve rail capacity, reliability, and safety, supporting more frequent services, reduced congestion, and improved journey times for the growing Sunshine Coast region.

As a Senior Rail Safety Advisor on the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade, you will provide leadership in the safe delivery of works within a live rail environment. You will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of health and safety systems, ensuring consistent compliance and a safe workplace for all personnel. • Lead the coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of health and safety practices for employees, contractors, and site visitors.
  • Oversee the delivery of education, compliance, and rail safety awareness programs across the workforce.
  • Lead and coordinate accredited training programs for HSE committee members, first aid officers, and rail‑specific safety roles.
  • Plan, conduct, and report on health and safety audits, inspections, and assurance activities to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Proactively identify hazards and lead the development of rail‑focused risk mitigation and incident prevention initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction and support to the Project Leadership Team to embed effective safety training and safety leadership behaviours.
  • Ensure the consistent implementation of occupational health and rail safety procedures in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.

About you

You are a Senior Rail Safety Advisor with extensive experience across major rail and infrastructure projects, particularly within live operating environments.
