About the Project:

 

Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.


John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.


Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.


John Holland is recruiting for a talented and driven Contracts Administrator with previous experience in a cost-reimbursable environment to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Draft scopes of works and tender packages to accompany requests for quotations issued to subcontractors for projects
  • Conduct initial investigations with subcontractors to clarify the organisations conditions relating to contracts
  • Provide assistance to the Procurement Lead and Package Lead in the negotiation of contract departures
  • Maintain a register of all subcontractors
  • Ensure cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained
  • Participate in identification and quantification of Head Contracts
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure the Code compliance is maintained at all times
  • Regularly assess commercial and contractual risks 

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years' experience working as a Contracts Administrator, ideally with a Tier 1 Contractor in Australia
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in relevant software packages such as Microsoft Suite (including Excel) and exposure to a contract management system (CRM)
  • Understanding of document control in accordance with records management procedures
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation/code on the project
  • Experience in negotiating with sub-contractors
