About the Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3:

 

John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.

 

About the Position:

 

Oversee the implementation of Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMP’s) including temporary diversions, staging, temporary signalling, signage, line marking and safety barrier placement to facilitate compliant and safe temporary alignments. Actively promote best practice solutions and devices to position John Holland as a market leader in the delivery of infrastructure.

 

This role will be a permanent nightshift position, closing the loop between the dayshift development and approval of CTMP’s and the afterhours implementation of those controls and systems.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Collaborate with the Project Traffic Team during the development of construction traffic management plans to ensure proposed arrangements meet site specific requirements
  • Oversee the implementation of long term TGS as part of the temporary traffic staging strategy
  • Conduct documented inspections of safety barriers, signal, sign and pavement marking installations to ensure site conditions meet CTMP approval requirements
  • Perform road safety audits
  • Review and evaluate the work of external traffic consultants under the direction of the Project Traffic Manager
  • Apply and promote consistency in traffic management practices and knowledge sharing across the Project
  • Liaise with Traffic Management subcontractors, and suppliers that deploy to site to ensure complaint implementations
  • Perform duties in accordance with John Holland processes, systems, and procedures.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil / structural engineering from an institute recognised by Engineers Australia
  • 10+ years local or international experience specialising in traffic engineering on Infrastructure projects
  • Strong competence in application of applicable Australian Standards, Austroads Guidelines and local road authority requirements
  • Ability to self-manage tasks, and undertake multiple deliverables concurrently
  • Road Safety Auditing experience in temporary traffic environments
  • QLD TMD qualification (or interstate equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of Safety Barrier installation
  • Strong knowledge of temporary traffic management controls, systems and processes
  • Strong knowledge of typical construction staging in urban environments
