About John Holland

We're all about transforming lives by finding solutions to complex challenges across a wide range of industries including infrastructure, property, rail, building and water projects in Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia.

While our competitors talk about what they do, we focus on why we do it. We transform communities to make them easier to move around, more connected and better to live in.

The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Community and Stakeholder Relations Advisor to join our high-performing team on John Holland’s M7–M12 Integration Project — a major infrastructure project connecting the M7 Motorway to the new Western Sydney International Airport and surrounding precincts.

As part of our passionate community team, you’ll help keep local residents, businesses and stakeholders informed, heard, and supported throughout construction. From planning engagement activities and managing impacts, to crafting communications and responding to public enquiries — your work will help ensure the community is genuinely brought along for the journey.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plan and manage contact with external stakeholders and the community in a way that enhances the reputation of John Holland and organisation partners.
  • Provide advice and assistance to the construction teams on community and stakeholder activities so communication and notification requirements are understood in accordance with the Stakeholder Relations and Communications Management Plan.
  • Write a range of high-quality communication materials, including notifications, newsletters, advertising, social media posts, and formal correspondence, as well as coordinating residential door-knocks as appropriate.
  • Manage responses to all project-related communications matters, including via phone, email, website, and social media in line with the agreed client framework.
  • Maintain registers and ensure community and stakeholder activities are recorded appropriately and in line with the agreed client framework.

About You:

  • 3-5 years of proven experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, or a similar role
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with community members, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Experience with programs such as Adobe In Design & Consultation Manager
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for community engagement activities.

We Offer:

Competitive remuneration with salary continuance, and salary sacrifice packaging options available.

Great leave benefits including 18 weeks paid parental leave with superannuation and up to an extra 18 weeks of superannuation paid on further periods of unpaid parental leave, multicultural leave exchange and two additional John Holland Days to prioritise health and wellbeing.

Career progression underpinned by our exciting pipeline of work means you'll have the opportunity to work on iconic projects that are shaping cities and communities.
