About The Project

 

John Holland has recently been awarded the Illabo to Stockinbingal section of Inland Rail in NSW. The Illabo to Stockinbingal section is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai. It will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.
Illabo to Stockinbingal is a DIDO Project, accommodation is provided on the 2:1 (2 weeks on / 1 week off) roster. 
If you move to within an hour of Stockinbingal / Cootamundra, the Project will contribute (in line with the relocation policy) towards your relocation. 

About the role

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Drainage Project Engineer to work on our Illabo to Stockinbingal project (I2S) willing to explore a new opportunity in regional NSW. 

 

This role's key purpose is oversee and coordinate the Drainage construction on the project reporting in the Senior Project Engineer .

 

This role will be a Monday-Friday Sydney-based role until construction commences in July. The role will then be a 2:1 Roster based on site in Stockinbingal.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme, project budgets and report to the Senior Project Engineer.
Mentor and coach direct reports both technically and operationally to support development and effective management of work on site
Work within the project team to assist with scoping, procurement, cost estimating, budgeting, and completion of works to meet client objectives
Preparation of both short- and longer-term detailed construction staging, plans and performance targets
Understand and adhere to the JH & client’s requirements in relation to all Project Plans, OHS requirements, Document Control procedures and QA Environment requirements
Undertake qualitative and quantitative safety, environment, and quality risk assessments to ensure acceptable quality of works and finishes

 


Skills & Experience required:

 

Tertiary Bachelor qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering or other relevant field/major
Demonstrated skills in programming, cost control, quality assurance, safety and supervision/people management
Previous work in a rail environment and technical knowledge of related specifications preferred
Has sound understanding of Rail Safety National Law, Rail Safety work and the responsibilities of duty holders
Demonstratable experience as Project Engineer at site operational level and leader of engineering team
Knowledge of project management principles, plans, specification, standards and implications for project accountabilities
Understanding the requirements of Project Design Management Plan, Quality Management Plan. Safety Management Plan and Environmental Management Plan
