About Inland Rail:
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.

 

The Illabo to Stockinbingal project is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai. This new section of rail corridor will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.

 

We are currently looking for a Safety Administrator, to work on our busy Cootamundra based project.

 

As a Health & Safety Administrator you will be playing a key role in the efficiency of the day-to-day operational requirements within the Safety team.  This role reports into the safety manager and you’ll get to work with a bunch of others who live and breathe our safety culture. We don’t expect you to have previous exposure in a safety team or environment, but we are eager to welcome someone to the team who is passionate about safety. or perhaps, is thinking about this as a long-term career. 

 

Some of the things you will be doing:
-Assisting with the update and maintenance required Health and Safety Reports, Project Safety Plans and registers
-Provision of Health & Safety support – including document management, assisting in the acquisition of supplies (i.e. PPE, emergency equipment) 
-Work creatively and collaboratively in assisting with safety activities that support projects operations (i.e. coordination of training, campaign development, project safety communications)
-Developing and maintaining an awareness of Health & Safety hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks
-Build awareness of a safety culture among the Project Management team, and actively contribute to its development so that Health & Safety is the primary driver of all behaviour
-Enter and extract data from incident management system

You will bring:

-Previous experience in a high-volume administration role with great attention to detail 
-A good attitude and balance to a busy environment
-Someone who can communicate with confidence and knows how to handle conflicting priorities and communicate when they are at capacity
-A time management master when it comes to competing priorities
-A persistence to continuously improvement ideas, build team member buy-in to ideas, listen to team members’ improvement ideas, and have informed opinions about their merit to enable continuous improvements within the Safety Team
