About Inland Rail:
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Illabo to Stockinbingal project is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai. This new section of rail corridor will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.
About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to join our I2S project.
As a Temporary Works Coordinator, you will oversee and manage all temporary works activities on-site, ensuring they are designed, implemented, and maintained to meet safety and project requirements.
You will work closely with construction teams, subcontractors, and designers to ensure seamless coordination, compliance, and delivery of temporary works throughout the project lifecycle.
It will be a 2-1 roster role, based out of the project office in Cootamundra or unless agreed with the line manager subject to temporary works activities.
Key responsibilities of the role:
-Coordinating and managing all temporary works activities on the construction site
-Ensuring that all temporary works designs are compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
-Reviewing and approving temporary works designs and ensuring they meet project requirements
-Liaising with design teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of temporary works activities
-Conducting risk assessments and implementing appropriate control measures for temporary works
-Monitoring the installation, use, and dismantling of temporary works to ensure compliance with approved designs and safe working practices
-Providing technical advice and support to project teams regarding temporary works
-Maintaining accurate documentation, including records of temporary works activities and compliance
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
-Diploma of Project Management in Engineering Science, Building, Construction or equivalent
Skills and Experience:
-Proven experience with a Tier 1 contractor
-Strong technical knowledge and understanding of temp work activities
-Sub-contractor management including scope of works creation and tendering
-Ability to collaborate with the site foreman and site staff for project needs and to deliver project updates in daily pre-start meetings
-Coordination between site and project office with current information, issues and risks. Demonstrated site experience would be highly regarded
-Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
-5 years + experience preferred

-Willing to Drive in Drive out/ Train in Train Out
-Or, willing to relocate yourself within an hour’s commute of Cootamundra/Stockinbingal.
-Be open to working a 2:1 roster (2 weeks on / 1 week off)
