About the Program:
John Holland with design partner GHD will deliver the RTP scope which involves a program of upgrades and renewal works to treatment plants, pipelines & pump stations in Ipswich, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, & the Scenic Rim.
About the Position:
As a Contract Administrator, you’ll be responsible for supporting the preparation and negotiation of agreements with subcontractors, including managing the quotation process and finalising contracts. Additionally, you’ll provide essential contract administration services to help monitor and control project costs, ensuring efficient and effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Draft scopes of works and tender packages to accompany requests for quotations issued to subcontractors for projects
- Conduct initial investigations with subcontractors to clarify the organisations conditions relating to contracts
- Provide assistance to the Procurement Lead and Package Lead in the negotiation of contract departures
- Maintain a register of all subcontractors
- Ensure cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained
- Participate in identification and quantification of Head Contracts
- Manage subcontractors to ensure the Code compliance is maintained at all times
- Regularly assess commercial and contractual risks
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in relevant software packages such as Microsoft Suite (including Excel) and exposure to a contract management system (CRM)
- 3-5 years' experience working as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a Tier 1 Contractor
- Experience with a variety of project values and complexity, ideally in the infrastructure environment (water, wastewater, highways, roads, rail, bridges, tunnelling etc),
- Understanding of document control experience in accordance with records management procedures
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation/code on the project to prevent potential business exposure
- Experience in negotiating with sub-contractors
