About the IT Service Operations team

 

You will join an experienced IT team, focussed on working collaboratively to deliver IT services to John Holland. We use the ServiceNow platform to support the business across the entire range of end user IT and systems. This is made easier as we recently rolled out Windows 11 to the entire business and moved to an autopilot, intune managed environment. Our focus for the coming year will be on automating and streamlining existing processes.

We are currently seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to join our IT team based out of the Fortitude Valley office in Brisbane.  Some travel is required in this role.

You will be responsible for supporting the technical infrastructure, daily end user IT (Information Technology) support and maintenance and administration of IT Systems for JHG in a professional and competent manner to provide a high level of service to the business.

About the Role

  • Supports all John Holland systems, applications & infrastructure under IT Service Delivery Model
  • Provide a high level of professional support to all customers
  • Work to resolve support requests, phone calls and walk-up requests
  • Provide support within the wider IT Team to manage, install, test and troubleshoot new technology and systems
  • Maintain IT devices and assets and ensure associated records are kept up to date
  • Assist with the review of technologies to determine suitability for John Holland
  • Be aware of Safety, Quality and Environmental risk requirements for subcontractors and provide supervision of works in conjunction with TRA’s
  • Tasks that may fall outside of business hours upon agreement
  • Assist as required with mobilisation and demobilisation of project offices including travel to sites as needed (Requires manual moving of equipment and ability to life approx. 20 kg safely)
  • Liaise directly with stakeholders from within the business and external vendors
  • Support IT strategy and IT projects into the business
  • Complete assigned tasks in a professional, competent and timely manner (including stock management, moving of equipment safely such as monitors, networking gear and printers)
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for IT and customer reference.
  • Maintain and adhere to user, data and business privacy requirements in line with IT, legal and security policies

About You

You will ideally have tertiary qualifications in Computing or a related discipline, along with previous experience providing Help Desk and Level 1–2 support. You’ll be confident troubleshooting technical issues and navigating IT networking environments, with hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Microsoft 365 Admin Centre(s))
  • Mobile device support, international roaming troubleshooting
  • Video conferencing - MS Teams Rooms
  • Network familiarity (Cisco, Aruba)
  • ITIL-based service management (ServiceNow)

 

You’re someone who manages your time well, stays organised, and takes a logical approach to problem solving. Your strong attention to detail and ability to work through issues calmly and efficiently will make you a valued part of the team. A current Driver’s Licence is required for this role.
