About the program:
We are looking for a Project Engineer to join the Urban Utilities Regional Treatment Plants (RTP) Program team.
John Holland with design partner GHD will deliver the RTP scope which involves a program of upgrades and renewal works to treatment plants, pipelines & pump stations in Ipswich, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, & the Scenic Rim.
About the role:
As an integral member of the UU Regional Treatment Plants Program, you will coordinate on-site engineering functions, to achieve time and budget objectives and provide efficient support for construction activities.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
- Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports
- Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Area Manager
- Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects
- Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions
- Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards
- Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project
- Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes
- Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting
- Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes
- Utilize effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource time management
- Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedure
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical etc)
- Water industry experience advantageous, in excess of $10M ideally
- 3-5+ years' postgraduate experience, ideally in a tier one contractor setting
- Leadership ability to provide mentorship to direct reports
- Demonstrated commercial experience to include planning and reporting on progress, cost and risk
- Demonstrated personal commitment to health and safety
