About the Project:

 

The Lake Macdonald Dam is located in the Noosa hinterland and is part of the South East Queensland drinking water supply operated by Seqwater. 

John Holland has been awarded the Contract to undertake the largest upgrade to the dam since its installation in 1965 as part of the Seqwater Dam Improvement Project. The upgrade will include but not be limited to:

 

  • Pre-construction Approvals, Procurement and Site Establishment 
  • Lake Lowering and Aquatic Salvage 
  • Installation of Upstream Coffer Dam 
  • Cofferdam, Spillway Demolition and Working Platform 
  • Dam Construction 
  • Reinstatement, Rehabilitation and Demobilisation 

 

As construction of LMDIP (Lake Macdonald Dam Improvement Project) gets under way, John Holland is actively recruiting for a Quality Advisor to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Noosa hinterland project.

 

About The Position:

 

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be required to support the implementation and monitoring of the quality objectives and requirements. Together with your team, you will ensure risks and other issues do not adversely impact the surety of successful project delivery. You will also assist with the inspection and test requirements. 
 

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Under direction, develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans, process control procedures, testing and analysis procedures to ensure that products meet specifications and standards
  • Document quality issues and performance measures for management review
  • Assist with the implementation of the organisational Quality Management System on the project to ensure quality objectives and targets are met 
  • Prepare audit reports summarising production and quality issues together with recommend corrective actions
  • Identify and report quality objectives, requirements, risks and other issues that may adversely impact the surety of successful project delivery to the Quality Manager
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to management for quality-related activities
  • Understand compliance and reporting procedures and processes 
  • Manage the reporting of non-compliances and ensure dispositions, remedial solutions and corrective actions are effectively implemented
  • Review subcontractors' quality documentation and ensure they fulfil their quality system obligations
  • Attend inspections to ensure works are compliant with design and project requirement

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or similar), Science, Building, Construction, Quality Management or Project Management
  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience in a quality representative role
  • Quality assurance experience gained preferably within the construction industry working on Infrastructure Projects. Water infrastructure advantageous.
  • Experience in developing and implementing project QA management systems
  • Passion for developing your career with John Holland and be mentored by industry experts
