We are currently looking for a Rail Possession Planning Manager to join the team on MTMS2 Next Rail.


Responsibilities of the role include;
­ Assist in the management of the Works Readiness process, ensuring that T-minus Stage Gates are achieved for each rail Possession, including the completion of Works Readiness Checklists and submission of them on or ahead of time for each rail Possession
- Coordinate with each rail Possession Network Safety and Operations team inclusive of the following stakeholders; Sydney Trains, TfNSW, external parties etc. to ensure that all rail Possessions/Next Rail worksites and their subsequent limits/requirements are correctly represented and submitted
- Identification, arrangement & management of Possession Critical Resources required within each rail Possession
­ Convene and chair rail Possession planning meetings & Peer review meetings, including rail Possession whiteboard briefing meetings
- Evaluate work activities with the Next Rail construction teams and make recommendations in respect to the application of methodologies, advise on possible efficiencies & undertake early clash detection with other external party workscopes
- Manage and contribute to the preparation, submission & publishing of key rail Possession documentation such as; PACT updates, electrical isolation requests, rail Possession whiteboard briefing documentation etc.
- Planning & attendance of Sydney Trains rail possession coordination meetings across all project packages to identify potential synergies/alignment, inclusive of; Works coordination, finalisation & pre-possession meetings for each rail Possession/Shutdown access
- Convene and chair post-possession evaluation meetings (Lessons Learned) in continuing to improve the planning process and to ensure that any corrective measures are highlighted and implemented
- Work weekends and rotating shifts on Disruptive rail Possessions as the Possession Delivery Manager
- Responsible for management of the rail Possession Schedule, identifying and resolving rail Possession/Worksite clashes on the network
- Directly plan and manage Possession Officer/Coordinator resources to deliver project scope

To be successful in this key role, you must have;
­ Current Protection Officer – Level 3 qualification
- SERQ audit and assessment
- RIW/MTA certification
- 3 - 5+ years’ experience on a similar rail infrastructure or rail tunnelling project in a rail Possession management role
- 3 - 5+ years’ of managing concurrent rail Possession access; inclusive of adjacent live line working
- Proven rail Possession management experience within rail projects exceeding $500M in value
- Sound knowledge, understanding & proven experience of existing rail Possession arrangements within the Rail Projects NSW portfolio. Proven ability to manage varied stakeholders, both internal & external
- Experience chairing and coordinating rail Possession briefings and meetings
- Ability to read, interpret & understand Sydney Trains/TfNSW documentation & requirements for possession Planning and implementation
- Sound knowledge of Sydney Trains Possession notes/Works Train notices and Safeworking methods in NSW
- Understanding of bus replacement services and customer impacts across each rail Possession
- Intermediate to advanced level of PACT
- Holds a current and active Rail Industry Worker Card with current Cat. 3 Rail medical and construction induction / white card
