About North Western Program Alliance
North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of five Alliance partners – John Holland, KBR, MTM, V/Line and the client (VIDA Rail), working together as one team to achieve shared goals.
Since 2017, the Victorian Government has entrusted North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) and our Alliance partners to remove dangerous and congested level crossings, deliver new rail stations and infrastructure, and create more community open spaces.
Our Alliance currently has four projects in delivery and two in development phase, along with the successful delivery of ten level crossing removal projects (17LX) and several premium stations and a Tram Maintenance Facility.

As part of NWPA, you will work within a high-performing alliance delivering critical transport infrastructure, with the opportunity to influence financial outcomes, governance standards, and operational performance at scale.
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to join our team in Sunshine on a full-time, permanent basis.
Role Responsibilities
This role leads the Accounts Payable function across one of NWPA’s major delivery projects, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate and timely supplier payments, and alignment with alliance commercial objectives. Partner with Commercial and Project Delivery teams to support purchase commitments, invoice processing and payment outcomes, contributing to project performance and cash flow integrity.
Operational Delivery
- Ensure accurate and timely invoice and payment processing
- Oversee reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain alignment between commitments, accruals and payments
Stakeholder & Commercial Alignment
- Partner with Commercial and Project teams on receipting and commitments
- Resolve supplier and project invoicing issues efficiently
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
- Standardise and optimise AP processes across projects
- Improve systems, workflow and data integrity
Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead, coach and develop the AP team
- Build capability within a high-performing finance function
Governance, Risk & Audit
- Strengthen AP controls and ensure compliance with policies, ATO/GST and audit requirements
- Assist with responses to internal audit queries
- Monitor and manage risk across AP processes
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related area and significant experience leading Accounts Payable functions, with strong expertise in processes, controls and compliance
- Extensive experience with ERP or project-based financial systems, ideally in construction or infrastructure environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to partner effectively across commercial, project and finance teams
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement, system optimisation and team capability development
- Solid understanding of financial governance, risk management and regulatory compliance requirements
