About The Project
The Linewide Alliance, comprising John Holland, Alstom, RATP Dev, KBR and WSP, are excited to be delivering the transformative Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East Linewide package.
When SRL opens, the new rail services for passengers will also be delivered by, a venture between RATP Dev and John Holland to operate and maintain the franchise for 15 years from 2035, to be known as TransitLinx.
The Alliance will deliver a world-class, service-proven driverless metro system that sets new benchmarks for comfort, safety, and reliability for Melbourne.
SRL is a transport and urban planning project that will deliver world-class public transport, reduce travel times, and support the delivery of more homes and housing.
About The Role:
The Health & Safety Governance and Assurance Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining a robust Health & Safety governance and assurance framework for the Alliance to comply with both John Holland and the client’s expectations.
The role provides independent, objective assurance to the Alliance Health and Safety Manager and the Alliance Management Team (AMT) that the Alliance Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS) (including rail safety) complies with legislative requirements, ISO 45001, Alliance contractual obligations, and Principal Contractor standards, while supporting Alliance principles of shared accountability, transparency, and a no-blame culture.
The position operates independently of delivery functions and does not have responsibility for day-to-day operational supervision.
To be successful in this key role we are looking for;
Qualifications
- Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Safety Lead Auditor certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Quality, Environment, Project Management, or related discipline.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in construction safety management.
- 5+ years in governance and assurance roles.
- 2–3 years’ experience in audit management practices.
- Skilled in quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls during project delivery.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Rail Safety legislation, including Comcare requirements, with ability to interpret relevant statutes.
