Join the team as a Rail Safety Manager on our SRL project based in Melbourne. This is a great opportunity to make an impact in rail on a high-profile project as part of one of Australia’s most highly regarded construction companies.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
-Obtaining and maintaining rail safety accreditation for the SRL East project as part of the safety team and the development of a rail safety management system.
-Providing specialist safety knowledge to the SRL East projects Alliance partners and contractors to ensure the compliant and effective implementation of the rail safety management system.
-Developing and administering governance and assurance programs for multiple contractors working under the SRL East projects rail safety accreditation.
-Supporting the delivery of broader safety strategies for the SRL East Project and undertaking day-to-day activities to support the safety team.
-Driving continuous safety improvement on the SRL East project in collaboration with the project leadership team and providing active coaching to build safety and accreditation capabilities throughout the project.
-Proactive collaboration with the SRL Authority and maintaining a positive and respectful working relationship.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
-Previous experience in rail safety accreditation matters, with a strong understanding of rail safety management systems
-Bachelor degree in Quality, Safety, Environmental, Project Management or related field.
-Knowledge of Rail Safety legislation and statutes and the ability to interpret any relevant statutes or legislation applicable to the project.
-Previous experience working on major projects with a tier 1 or tier 2 contractor.
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders.
You will have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively and be able to foster effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
