John Holland is proud to be a key delivery partner on the Cross Yarra Partnership (CYP), responsible for the Operations & Maintenance of the transformative Metro Tunnel Project.

About the role
Working for John Holland as part of the Cross Yarra Partnership Maintenance team (CYP team), the Senior Finance Analyst will prepare statements and reports to ensure accuracy and conformance to reporting, procedural standards and statutory compliance.
The role will prepare, examine and analyse financial and accounting information. The role will also assist in providing accurate, pragmatic advice to the business focussed on adding value whilst maintaining an acceptable level of risk
Responsibilities of the role include
- Manage month-end processes including accounting journal entries, account reconciliations and preparation of monthly project financial reports.
- Analyse monthly financial performance against budget and prepare management reports that highlight key variances, identify trends, and provide recommendations for effective management of revenue and expenditure against budget.
- Lead the coordination and consolidation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Manage revenue processes, including preparation of client payment claims and monitoring of compliance with head contract terms to identify and raise variations as needed.
- Act as a finance business partner to operational managers, supporting budget tracking and decision making.
- Analyse and report on performance, compliance, defects and non-conformance.
- Ensure contractual and commercial awareness in Head Contract and subcontract agreements.
- Demonstrate initiative in the conduct of assignments.
- Coordinate accounting data with other departments, locations and divisions as required.
- Apply understanding of national and state regulatory frameworks and systems.
- Review and verify the accuracy of accounting entries in recorded systems.
- Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key people informed.
- Assist in internal and external audit programs.
- Identify and recognise risks prior to work commencing and communicate to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all activities comply with legal, professional and ethical standards.
What we are looking for
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in discipline relevant to function area, e.g. accounting
Experience
- 5-10 years accounting experience
- Demonstrated experience in financial and management accounting
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Computer proficiency in relevant software, e.g. asset management software (MRI) and financial management, budgeting and reporting software (Adaptive and Workday)
