John Holland is proud to be a key delivery partner on the Cross Yarra Partnership (CYP), responsible for the Operations & Maintenance of the transformative Metro Tunnel Project.

About the role


As Senior Maintenance Manager with the Cross Yarra Partnership Maintenance team, you will support the Melbourne Metro Tunnel project from mobilisation to maintenance. During the Mobilisation period, your role is crucial in ensuring the seamless handover of assets from the construction teams to the maintainer by ensuring our asset management systems are ready for Day 1, ensuring asset information is complete and our teams are ready to commence maintenance on Day 1 of Operations. 


During the Maintenance phase, your role is crucial to delivering appropriate and efficient maintenance, developing and delivering on maintenance technology while ensuring safety and asset reliability is maintained. 

 

Responsibilities of the role include 

 

  • Lead the trial operations activities in preparation for the Maintenance Phase
  • Lead the maintenance planning team in developing and executing the planned periodical maintenance
  • Mobilise the maintenance delivery team including recruitment, training, and rostering, and equipment purchasing
  • Manage contractor performance and ensure maintenance delivery is of high quality, effective, efficient and within budget.
  • Ensure the Maintenance Team is equipped to meet contract obligations and KPI’s including maintenance compliance, Abatement-free targets and asset availability 
  • Ensure accurate entry of data in the CMMS including the recording of spares usage to assist spares management and utilisation
  • Accountable for maintenance budget and forecasting, and supporting the team in the management of subcontracts
  • Perform all management activities associated with the maintenance delivery team including rostering, leave management, fatigue management ensuring optimum supervisor coverage of the assets and work activities at all times
  • Work collaboratively as part of the Senior Leadership Team, proactively engaging with all members of the team to achieve the wider business objectives

To be successful in this key role, you must have

 

  • Trade or Engineering Maintenance Qualification.
  • Hands on maintenance experience with the ability to understand equipment and systems to facilitate problem solving in a complex operating environment.
  • Strong people leadership capabilities.


Experience with:

  • Contemporary practices in whole of life asset management. 
  • Contractual, commercial, and legislative compliance management.
  • Financial management including cost reduction and meeting budgets.
