About the role:
We are interested in hearing from Project Engineers, experienced within the Track and Civil space. This is a role based in our Rutherford site office.
Key Responsibilities:
-Manage project activities and work scope
-Liaise with Client, Subcontractors and all project stakeholders
-Assist Senior Project Engineer and act as focal point for technical advice, providing the project with best practice methods
-Help ensure project is delivered to programme, budget and the highest safety standards
-Procurement and Management of plant, labour and materials
-Monitor monthly forecasts
-Provide innovative problem solving and technical expertise in all areas of track and civil (including earthworks, bridge and drainage works)
-Demonstrate skills in reporting on project performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance
-Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes
-Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures
Skills & Experience required:
-Tertiary qualifications Construction / Engineering Discipline
-Demonstrated skills in programming, cost control, quality assurance, safety and supervision/people management
-Previous work in a Rail environment and technical knowledge of track and civil works, in particular on the ARTC Network.
-Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards and implications for project accountabilities
-The ability to work quickly, effectively and positively in a demanding environment
-Well-developed organisational skills and able to pay attention to detail
-The ability to work to deadlines and targets and the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure
