Superintendent – NWPA

North Western Program Alliance has successfully completed 3 level crossing removals and a station upgrade. It is an Alliance made up of 4 partners and has a pipeline of future works that will go for the next 5 years. NWPA is currently going through a period of growth that will see additional projects awarded to the alliance with greater value, making it a major project. NWPA’s focus is on making a difference for the community and providing the best chance for their staff to develop and grow in this fast-paced environment.

 

We are currently looking for Superintendent to join our team working on the level crossing removal project, located in the North West.

 

As Superintendent you will Plan and deliver all relevant scopes of construction work across a specific geographical area or functional discipline to ensure effective delivery of planned schedules within the planned time and budget. Provide effective leadership and sustainable working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to contribute to site safety, quality and environment controls and risk management.

 

 

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Oversee the on-site delivery of defined scopes of work on schedule with all stakeholder expectations met.
  • Provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety and environment management.
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder management and keep key personnel informed.
  • Manage industrial relations issues and implications and develop appropriate resolution.
  • Ensure compliance in commercial and financial management including meeting budgets and identifying cost saving measures.
  • Provide leadership in risk management, identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and build a risk management culture.
  • Utilise project planning skills to plan work, monitor implementation and effectiveness to achieve outcomes for quarterly goals.
  • Review progress against plans, contractual arrangements and delivery milestones to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates and take remedial action as required.
  • Review design documentation, read drawings, provide constructive review and oversee implementation of final designs.

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have;

  • Trade Qualifications or similar
  • Minimum 5-10 years previous construction experience in a similar role
  • Experience in industry relevant trade and construction operations of similar scale
  • People and performance management of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour
  • Skill in review of design documentation, ability to understand drawings, provide constructability review and implement final design plans.
  • Safety and environment management, resource management and construction program and methodology
