About The Role:

As a Senior Project Engineer working in our Rail & Transport team, you will play a key role across the full project life cycle, from scoping, design management, tendering and estimating through to project delivery and completions.

 

Working within a supportive & collaborative team, you will lead the delivery of civil works on metro based rail projects across all stages of the project life cycle. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
  • Mentor and coach direct reports both technically and operationally to support development and effective management of work on site
  • Direct and supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards. Conduct detailed inspections, identify deviations, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Provide high-level technical guidance to the project team, evaluate engineering designs, and resolve complex issues, while advising on advanced construction methodologies.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project contributors, effectively addressing concerns and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Champion health and safety compliance, leading by example to promote a safe working environment. Conduct safety inspections and promptly manage safety-related issues.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field 
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in project based civil engineering roles preferably on rail related projects.
  • Previous work in a Rail environment and technical knowledge of track works including turnouts and crossings
  • The ability to identify and resolve technical issues swiftly, employing analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate project challenges.
  • Demonstrated commercial experience including planning and reporting on progress, cost and risk.
  • Leadership capability with ability to mentor and guide team members while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Ability to work ad hoc night shift and periodic weekend work as required.
