About The Project
John Holland have been awarded to deliver the Parramatta light rail stage 2 - Enabling works project, the first part of this $322 million contract consists of the construction of the first 1.3km of new light rail alignment, including a 320m bridge over the Parramatta River between Melrose Park and Wentworth Point. Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 – Main Works will connect Stage 1 and the Parramatta CBD to Sydney Olympic Park via Camellia, Rydalmere, Ermington, Melrose Park and Wentworth Point.
About The Role
- Ensure the safety of any subordinates and ensure their compliance with establishes safety policies, procedures and practices
- Analyse safety problems and recommend solutions to appropriate manager
- Conduct routine HSE inspections, monitoring and analysis of work area
- Conduct investigations of site accidents and incidents that may require litigatio
- Assist with workers compensation claims and rehabilitation processes
- Create, evaluate and administer safety programs for all employees
- Monitor compliance with the HSE systems and procedures within the workplace and provide operational support to the Project Management Team
- Support management and dissemination of information
- Survey, evaluate, investigate and gather information that will address inadequacies concerning safety, health and environmental matter
- Prepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning the aspects of the safety program assigned
- Maintain knowledge of applicable rules and regulations including government regulations, standards and policies
- Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures to enable the performance of assigned duties in a safe manner
- Maintain professional relationships with regulatory bodies, clients and contemporaries to foster the professional image of the organisation
- Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems and procedures
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
- Diploma Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Cert IV in Environmental Management
- Experience in supporting stakeholder groups and teams within area of responsibility such communicating with frontline employees and first line managers
- Ability to interpret project related documents, preparing reports and monitoring compliance documentation
- Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and development skills as well as monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
