About the Project

John Holland, Stantec and KBR are partnering with Sydney Water in an Alliance to deliver the North-West Treatment Hub – a brownfield treatment program that will commence with a $500 million upgrade of Rouse Hill and Riverstone wastewater treatment facilities.

 

The project will achieve circular economy outcomes, increasing recycled water production, improving the quality of wastewater byproducts for reuse, and leveraging innovative treatment technologies that reduce carbon footprint. Upgrades will support the treatment of a further 45 megalitres of wastewater each day, to cater for growing northwest communities.

 

The Project will deliver a new state-of-the-art biosolids facility at Riverstone, with new technology to improve the quality of wastewater byproducts.

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibility of this role is to provide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure short-term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with site supervision staff. The Site Engineer will work collaboratively with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver project outcomes safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.


 
⦁ Assist in the development and communication of detailed programs for day-to-day activities, lookahead schedules, and daily program changes, including resource and material planning
⦁ Monitor progress of planned works, review delay allowances, and track off-site procurement items against program
⦁ Provide accurate site diaries daily and ensure proper use of purchase order systems
⦁ Accurately record and track costs related to plant, materials, and labour to assist in budget control and forecasting
⦁ Support Project Engineers in preparing cost-to-complete forecasts and contribute to weekly and monthly reports
⦁ Assist with preparation of Work Area Plans (WAPs), Work Packs (WPs), Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and Task Risk Assessments (TRAs)
⦁ Manage quality requirements including lot management, inspections, test results, and defect close-out in accordance with the Project Quality Plan
⦁ Participate in design and documentation reviews for construction purposes
⦁ Assist in managing subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure performance in terms of time, cost, and quality
⦁ Support community and environmental requirements and liaise effectively with external stakeholders
⦁ Promote and participate in a positive safety culture, including daily prestart meetings, toolbox talks, and site safety walks
⦁ Ensure compliance with NWHA policies, procedures, and relevant legislation at all times

To be successful:

 
⦁ Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
⦁ Experience in a similar role within the construction or infrastructure industry
⦁ Strong understanding of planning and programming of works, cost tracking, and forecasting
⦁ Knowledge of quality assurance processes and environmental compliance
⦁ Ability to interpret technical specifications and provide engineering support to construction teams
⦁ Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and suppliers effectively
⦁ Strong commitment to safety and ability to lead by example in promoting a positive safety culture
⦁ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
⦁ Proficiency in relevant project management and document control systems
