We’re seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead contract administration across complex construction and engineering projects. In this role you’ll direct commercial and subcontract outcomes from procurement through delivery—ensuring contracts are administered efficiently, obligations are met, and commercial risks and opportunities are actively managed. This role will be based out of our site office in Seven Hills NSW.
Key responsibilities:
-Lead the contracts administration function, including cost engineering, reporting, forecasting and commercial controls.
-Oversee procurement for subcontract and supply packages to ensure awards are on time and within budget.
-Establish and maintain subcontractor registers and ensure subcontractors/suppliers are acceptable to the project.
-Conduct and lead negotiations with subcontractors, aligning agreements to the project’s risk management principles.
-Manage quotations, tenders and contract letting, working closely with operations and contract administrators.
-Interpret and apply relevant legislation and codes to minimise commercial and legal exposure.
-Identify, quantify and negotiate head contract scope changes and variations with the client.
-Manage major claims and disputes with subcontractors and/or the client.
-Oversee monthly progress claims and approvals of disputed progress payments as escalated.
-Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, community and other external parties.
What you’ll bring:
-Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or a related discipline.
-5–10 years’ relevant commercial experience in the construction and engineering industry.
-Proven end-to-end contract management across a range of project values and complexities.
-Strong capability negotiating contractual terms, variations and progress claims.
-Demonstrated experience working within commercial authority frameworks and contract/commercial systems and procedures.
-Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (including Excel) and exposure to a contract management/CRM system.
-Construction Management qualification and/or CA/CPA (desirable).
-Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (desirable).
