The Project
Sydney Metro West is a transformational 24 km underground railway connecting Sydney CBD to Parramatta, with stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street.
The Linewide package connects the entire system, delivering the critical rail infrastructure and technology that bring the metro network to life.
Project offices are located across several Sydney locations including the CBD, Clyde, Rosehill, The Bays and Burwood North.
The Role:
We are seeking a talented and versatile Creative Content and Design Coordinator to join our Stakeholder, Community, and Communications Team for the Sydney Metro West Linewide Project.
This role will be pivotal in providing creative and graphic design support across all project disciplines, developing engaging campaigns, and producing a variety of internal and external communications both written and digital to inspire employees and achieve project milestones.
You will also manage internal communication channels (including the monthly e-newsletter and intranet) while ensuring all content aligns with our vision, values, and brand guidelines
Key Responsibilties
- Design high-quality visual assets for both digital and print mediums, including presentations, social media content, reports, and marketing collateral.
- Develop and maintain design templates to streamline content creation and ensure consistency.
- Translate complex ideas and messaging into compelling, on-brand visual storytelling.
- Create, write, and edit engaging content for internal communications (e.g., newsletters, intranet) and external channels.
- Develop content for project campaigns, announcements, updates, and brand storytelling.
- Support social media and digital content creation, including captions, visuals, and basic content planning.
- Adapt tone and messaging to suit diverse audiences (employees, stakeholders, clients, and the public).
- Coordinate photography, videography, and timelapse content across construction sites.
- Support internal communication initiatives to drive employee engagement and alignment with project objectives.
- Contribute to external communications that enhance the project’s presence and reputation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to bring key messages, milestones, and initiatives to life through creative storytelling.
- Manage multiple content and design requests, balancing priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Coordinate internal and external approvals to ensure timely delivery of content and assets
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a communications or creative role, ideally within the infrastructure, construction, or related industries.
- Recognised qualifications and proven expertise in graphic design.
- Strong understanding of accessible web content requirements and standards.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
