Are you up for the challenge?
We are currently looking for an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our team, based in Seven Hills. The successful candidate will have a high level of understanding in all areas of Health, Safety and Environment. You will be responsible for providing HSE advice to a challenging and exciting Project within our rail team and deliver initiatives that continue to improve the John Holland HSE culture.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
-Providing expert advice to ensure compliance with John Holland, Client, and Regulatory requirements
-Implementing and maintaining company safety inspections and audit schedules
-Carrying out site safety inspections and providing support to action corrective actions
-Liaising with Projects to gain insights into how to improve John Holland systems
-Developing and implementing strategies that improve operational performance.
-Providing support to develop safety documentation such as SWMS and work plans
-Planning and facilitating hazard analysis and risk assessment activities in a multi-discipline work environment
-Reviewing and implementing legislative and regulatory changes as required
-Management of incident reporting, and closing out non-compliance issues in a timely and efficient manner
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
-Excellent interpersonal skills are a must as well as relevant experience in a safety role is essential.
-Experience in the Rail and Transport industry is desirable
-A Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
-Knowledge developing and implementing Safety Management Systems and Safety Management Tools is essential
-Cert IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent
-Cert IV in Environmental Management
-Investigation Qualification (ICAM or TapRoot desirable)
-Lead Auditor Qualification desirable
-Occupational First Aid Qualification
-The ability to interpret project related documents, prepare reports and monitor compliance documentation is essential
-A high level of experience with Microsoft Office and Safety systems is essential
