About The Role

 

Our Infrastructure Business is looking for an experienced Estimating Manager to work with our internal teams and customers; ensuring we deliver accurate estimates of the total cost of projects, delivered on time and in accordance with required technical standards.

 

This is a highly influential role and pivotal for the commercial success of our infrastructure Business. You will need to work across tenders and projects, monitoring new innovations, techniques and cost trends. In addition, we expect this role to review client designs for opportunities and omissions. 

 

This is a highly specialist role, and requires an intimate knowledge of the infrastructure industry.

 

Key attributes for this role:

 

  • Experience in first Principals Estimating
  • The ability to take a lead role in tendering major projects ($500m+) and managing a team of estimators
  • Provide leadership and assistance to all team members whether direct or indirect
  • Exceptional construction methodology and programme skills
  • Design and Construct experience highly desirable
  • Exposure to major infrastructure projects
  • Review and appreciate tender and contract documentation to price accordingly
  • Leading tender reviews in front of management
  • Liaise with sub-contractors, consultants and suppliers to get best for tender outcomes

 

To succeed in his role you will need:

 

  • Advanced financial management skills
  • Multidisciplinary estimating experience including leading complex estimates
  • Experience in Construct Only, Design and Construct, Managing Contract, Alliance, JVs and PPP Contract Types
  • You will also need to have superior communication skills and demonstrate excellent client relationship and stakeholder management.


Qualifications and Experience:
 

  • Tertiary or Trade Qualifications in Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying and/or Project/Construction Management
  • Minimum 7 years estimating experience within a heavy civils construction environment
  • Multi-disciplinary estimating experience
  • Advanced financial management skills
  • Experience with estimating software such as Candy Construction Software (CCS)
  • Experience in Construct Only, Design & Construct, Managing Contract, Alliance, Joint Ventures & PPP Contracts types
  • Quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessments.
