The Role:

Our John Holland OHW team prides itself in finding the safest, most efficient solutions for constructing OHW systems in ever changing dynamic environments.  We strive for success and to always ensure a quality outcome for our partners and clients in the Rail Infrastructure that we build and maintain.

 

We are currently seeking Traction Overhead Line workers (Casual) for FIFO and local state-based assignments across NSW & QLD:

 

Reporting to the Overhead Wiring Manager, the above roles will support our Rail Services business in maintaining & constructing Rail Infrastructure as well as the construction of John Holland’s Major Projects. There will be a requirement for nightshift and as weekend work.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

 

  • Implementing John Holland & adhering to John Hollands GMRs.
  • Applying factual & logical solution during the project life cycle. 
  • Interpretation/application of Overhead Wiring designs & standards.
  • Installation of Foundations.
  • Installation of OHW Masts and Portals.
  • Pre-assembly, fabrication of OHW assemblies.
  • Installation of assemblies and hardware.
  • Stringing and tensioning of conductors – Catenary and Contact wires.
  • Making of Electrical and Mechanical connections.
  • Removal of redundant infrastructure.
  • Quality assurance checks.
  • Strong understanding and focus for safety.

 

About You:

You may hold the following relevant tickets/licenses and qualifications:

 

  • Experience with Train Overhead Wiring Systems (or similar)
  • Cert 3 ESI Rail Traction or equivalent.
  • Rigging License
  • Dogging License
  • EWP ticket >11m
  • Working at Heights Certificate
  • HR/MR Driving License
