We are currently looking for an experienced Overhead Wiring Project Engineer to join our rail team based in Seven Hills. The role will support our Rail Infrastructure Services business as well as John Hollands Major Projects.

As our projects are spread interstate we are looking for people able to travel to support our scope of works as part of the role.

 

Responsibilities of the role include:

-Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming including short range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Project Manager
-Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets
-Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Construction Manager or Project Manager
-Arrange and oversee the letting of tenders
-Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions
-Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports.
-Interpret designs for implementation on project
-Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes
-Manage and support the development of Site Engineers reporting into you
-Demonstrate people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes
 

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

-Degree in engineering to meet TAO engineering requirements.
-Must be available/ open to travel on assignment basis both locally and interstate.
-Based in Sydney or Victoria from our Rail Services offices.
-Detailed understanding of network requirements in multiple Australian regions.
-Construction background is a key requirement, network and design experience is favourable.
-Minimum 4-5 years post-graduate construction experience in overhead wiring, and/or traction and civil
-Demonstrated experience with project wide level of planning, development, and review of complex projects.
-Skill in use of document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance and procedures 
-Hold a current driver’s license 
-Flexibility to work weekend shifts and night shifts when required. For any eligible weekend shift work completed, you will be eligible for additional compensation
