About the role:

The NSW/ACT Infrastructure business is currently seeking a Senior Environmental and Approvals manager based in Pyrmont. Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, this role will support infrastructure projects from a Pre-Contract perspective and also support projects through the launch phase where required.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• ­Provide operational environmental and approvals guidance, diligence, consistency and discipline to business leaders to drive a culture of best practice.
• ­Ensure John Holland adopts robust due diligence and risk management processes and understands and meets its regulatory and legal environmental
• obligations.
• ­Promote the understanding of opportunities related to planning approvals, ensuring well balanced long-term decision making is consistently applied
• ­Ensure the BU and projects adopt John Holland systems, strategies, policies, objectives and targets from concept planning through to design, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance to meet customer requirements and help increase profit and market share
• ­Audit, analyse, report and communicate to senior management and operational staff members.
• ­Support the tender process and be the subject matter expert by providing environmental and approvals input to EOI, RFPs and tenders and projects

About You:

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Science, or Sustainability
• Construction environmental approvals management, generalist environmental and approvals experience
• Specialist NSW planning approval experience
• Strong communication skills and team management experience
