About the Role
Our Rail team are looking for a Senior Systems Assurance Engineer (Sydney) to provide capability for the systems and safety assurance activities required to successfully deliver working within the John Holland Rail Engineering & Integration (REI) team on a newly awarded project based in Sydney.
Responsibilities of the role include:
-Plan and implement systems and safety assurance activities within the engineering, procurement and construction frameworks on tenders and projects, particularly mass transit and metro project, including planning, analysis, hazards management, RAM management, requirements management, development of engineering safety cases and reporting of systems assurance outcomes
-Deliver the systems assurance works within budget, time, quality, contractual and regulatory standards, monitor and guide workflow, setting daily, weekly, and long-term project goals
-Demonstrating leadership in engineering safety risk management, safety compliance and auditing, and ensure legislative, pre-contract and commercial obligations are met
-Stakeholder management, including with clients, operators, independent safety assessors and the Regulator.
-Interpreting and scoping project requirements
-Carry out key project processes, documentation, and assurance evidence ensuring alignment with verification and validation strategy across the project lifecycle.
-Managing requirements and assurance criteria to comply with the project’s requirements and standards as well as meet the project objectives (outputs, timescale and cost)
The Successful Applicant
To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have relevant tertiary qualifications, together with knowledge of contemporary systems engineering and assurance practices specifically CENELEC standards for safety‑related systems (i.e. EN 50126 suite of standards and EN 62267). You will need significant experience in project-based systems assurance management, preferably within the rail industry. Recent experience in Sydney Metro systems and safety assurance framework preferred.
