About the M1 South - Blackhill to Tomago project:

A joint venture between John Holland and Gamuda Australia has been selected by Transport for NSW to deliver the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace Southern Package - a key missing link in one of the country's busiest transport corridors.

The $1.029 billion southern package will deliver a 10-kilometre dual carriageway motorway extension between Black Hill and Tomago. There will be 8 bridges that include a 2.6km viaduct and new congestion-busting interchanges at Black Hill, Tarro and Tomago.

About the role:

Our M1 project in Newcastle, NSW are currently looking for an experienced Surveyor to join the team. The successful applicant will report to the Survey Manager and be expected to perform the role professionally, be self-motivated and have a strong background within Infrastructure across Earthworks, Roads, Bridges and Pavements.

Responsibilities include:

• Construction set out
• Bridges/Structures/Civil Works
• Road Construction
• Earthworks surveys
• Volume Calculations
• Monitoring surveys
• Control surveys, both GPS and traditional
• Work as executed surveys
• 3D scanning/BIM modelling

Key objectives are, but not limited to:

• Efficient 12d Model / 12d Field user with the ability to convey information in a variety of formats
• Accurately set out survey information, as-constructed and conformance surveys
• Implement John Holland Survey Procedures consistently during the course of the survey works for the project duration
• Have a strong attitude and awareness of safety regulations and requirements
• Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with site foreman and engineers on all matters relating to the construction activities

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

• Previous experience in a construction / engineering environment
• Tertiary qualification in surveying will all be held in high regard
• Working knowledge of 12D Model and 12D Field software and planning ability.
