That’s our difference. Deep experience and capability with a genuine care about creating better lives for people along the way.
Be part of the team that’s up for the challenge of transforming lives for good.
About the Project
The Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Rail Upgrade Stage 1 is a major Queensland rail infrastructure program focused on improving network capacity, safety and reliability on one of the state’s busiest passenger corridors. Delivered in a complex brownfield rail environment, the project involves significant systems, civil and operational interfaces and close collaboration with key government and rail stakeholders including Queensland Rail and the Department of Transport & Main Roads.
This is a high‑profile project requiring disciplined interface management to safely integrate works across live rail operations while maintaining service continuity.
About the Role
As Interface Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in enabling safe, coordinated and integrated delivery across the B2N project lifecycle. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager – Rail Systems, you will own the end‑to‑end management of physical, technical, systems and operational interfaces, acting as the central point of coordination between internal disciplines, contractors and external rail authorities.
Your work will directly support programme certainty, risk reduction and successful commissioning outcomes on a complex Tier 1 rail project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation and ongoing governance of the Interface Management Plan in line with John Holland rail standards.
- Identify, define and manage interfaces across civil, track, signalling, OHW, power, communications, stations, depots and enabling works.
- Monitor interface dependencies within construction and commissioning programs to minimise schedule and safety risk.
- Act as the primary liaison with Queensland Rail, ensuring clear, timely and professional coordination of all interface matters.
- Coordinate rail access management, approvals, permits and compliance with operational and safety requirements.
- Manage the submission, review and close‑out of rail authority documentation including SWMS, TRAs and assurance deliverables.
- Lead interface‑related risk identification, escalation and resolution, including rail infrastructure monitoring and action plans.
- Facilitate interface workshops and multidisciplinary coordination forums to drive alignment across delivery teams.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and promote a culture of collaboration, accountability and delivery excellence.
What We Are Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in interface management, systems integration or engineering coordination on major rail or transport infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of rail systems integration within complex brownfield environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders across clients, operators, designers and delivery teams.
- Confidence operating in safety‑critical rail environments with a disciplined, detail‑oriented approach.
- Strong communication, leadership and problem‑solving capability.
