About The Project
The Beveridge Intermodal project is a landmark freight and logistics development in Victoria, set to play a critical role in Australia’s national supply chain. Located in Melbourne’s north, this major infrastructure project will deliver an integrated intermodal terminal, connecting road and rail to improve freight efficiency, reduce congestion, and support long-term economic growth.
Delivered within a complex project environment, the works involve multidisciplinary interfaces across civil, rail systems, logistics, and operational stakeholders to create a nationally significant freight hub.
About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Traffic to provide senior-level leadership and technical expertise in traffic management to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient movement of traffic across the Beveridge Intermodal Precinct project. Oversee the planning, coordination, and implementation of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), ensuring the protection of workers, road users, and the surrounding community while supporting efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and staging methodologies in line with legislative and project requirements.
• Oversee and coordinate all project traffic management operations to ensure alignment with Australian Standards, Codes of Practice, permits, and John Holland’s policies and procedures.
• Act as the primary point of contact for traffic-related matters with stakeholders, regulators, subcontractors, and local authorities, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
• Provide strategic input during project planning sessions to mitigate traffic impacts and optimize sequencing of construction activities.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and reviews of traffic management systems to ensure compliance with project conditions and identify emerging risks.
What We Are Looking For
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in traffic management on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of traffic management regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
• Significant experience in leading teams and subcontractors in complex, live traffic environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and staging methodologies.
