About the project:
John Holland was awarded a contract for the design and construction of a $500m waste water treatment plant consisting of preliminary and primary treatment including a tankered waste receival area, sludge thickening system, anaerobic digestion and handling biogas, liquid food waste receival and treatment facility and an odour control facility.
We are recruiting a Commissioning Manager to lead and ensure the commissioning and completion activities comply with all aspects of the contract, schedule, quality, safety and environmental requirements on the project. The position will report to the Project Director and will be based in Werribee, VIC.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Prepares, implements, and revises as required the Testing & Commissioning Management Plan in compliance with the Contract requirements and with the testing & commissioning strategy
- Lead the commissioning team to ensure that the process of testing & commissioning is managed, planned, documented, resourced and executed to meet the technical requirements as defined by the contract documents, to meet project budget and program requirements.
- Liaise with key stakeholders for the coordination of the commissioning activities. Manage and coordinate with the asset owners (client interface) for operational interface with existing assets.
- Overall responsibility for the assets from completion of construction to Practical Completion on completion of the performance trial.
- Provide leadership and technical direction to project staff, design consultants, subcontractors, technology providers and vendors, and workforce to ensure testing, pre commissioning & commissioning is completed in accordance with the project requirements
- Develops required commissioning documentation (organisation, staffing, program, schedules, templates, test procedures) in accordance with project requirements
- Prepare the budget for the commissioning phase and report the forecast costs monthly to ensure completion of the works within budget.
- Prepare the programme of commissioning activities and ensure completion by the relevant milestones and date(s) for completion.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to determine the critical commissioning activities.
- Manage the drafting and final submission of the Operation Management Plans and Maintenance Plans in accordance with the Technical Specification.
- Preparation and submission of commissioning reports and monthly progress reports.
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
- Bachelors Degree in either Chemical, Process, Mechanical,Electrical or Automation Engineering
- Extensive experience in the field of M&E installation/testing, commissioning and operation of large scale wastewater treatment plants
- Successful project delivery experience as a Commissioning Manager
