About the program:

We are looking for an Area Manager to join the Urban Utilities Regional Treatment Plants (RTP) Program team.

 

John Holland with design partner GHD will deliver the RTP scope which involves a program of upgrades and renewal works to treatment plants, pipelines & pump stations in Ipswich, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, & the Scenic Rim.

About the role:

Leading a team of engineers, control and coordinate all site-based infrastructure activities across an substantial geographical area of the overall program.

 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience as a Senior Project Engineer.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Apply contemporary practices in construction methodology to complete assigned works in compliance with client expectations, company objectives and contractual obligations
  • Authorise construction planning, programming and completion schedules
  • Monitor progress, ensuring that work quality and techniques are of a high standard and report regularly on project performance, and cost against company objectives
  • Authorise engagement of subcontractors, management of subcontractor work to achieve outcomes
  • Stakeholder management: Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged and that beneficial relationships between the project and the client, subcontractors, community and other external parties are developed and maintained
  • People management: Establish and develop a high performing team to ensure the project has the capability to achieve targets
  • Financial management: Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with JH’s authority and reporting frameworks and maximise the profit margin for the project

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

  • Tertiary engineering qualifications; civil, mechanical, electrical or similar
  • Previous local experience, ideally within a tier one contractor setting
  • Previous experience in the delivery of water infrastructure projects / programs
  • Passion for teamwork and delivering on tight deadlines
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation
  • Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance, and reporting procedures
