About the project:

The Lake Macdonald Dam is located in the Noosa hinterland and is part of the South East Queensland drinking water supply operated by Seqwater. 

 

John Holland has been awarded the Contract to undertake the largest upgrade to the dam since its installation in 1965 as part of the Seqwater Dam Improvement Project. The upgrade will include but not be limited to:

 

  • Pre-construction Approvals, Procurement and Site Establishment 
  • Lake Lowering and Aquatic Salvage 
  • Installation of Upstream Coffer Dam 
  • Cofferdam, Spillway Demolition and Working Platform 
  • Dam Construction 
  • Reinstatement, Rehabilitation and Demobilisation 

 

As construction of LMDIP (Lake Macdonald Dam Improvement Project) gets under way, John Holland is actively recruiting for a Temporary Works Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Noosa hinterland project based in Nambour, Sunshine Coast.

About the position:

As a Document Controller, you will manage various aspects of document control, including the receipt, storage, retrieval and circulation of documents, review coordination, external submission, and distribution control.

 

The documents may include design documentation, confidentiality agreements, various instructions, and reports on safety, quality, and the environment.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Support the establishment of project correspondence system
  • Ensure document submissions are in accordance and compliant with the project document formats and requirements
  • Implement workflows and collate, issue, and receive documents in accordance with project requirements for the development, review and approval of design documentation and all other procedures, instructions, product certification and records that are subject to review and approval
  • Plan and record document flow to and from all necessary parties, including clients, sub-contractors, consultants, and the project office
  • Record issues and track location of control documents and drawings
  • Issue letters and receipts concerning the documents in circulation
  • Ensure current versions are maintained of all documents subject to revision and ensure current versions of documents are issued to required project parties
  • Coordinate storage and archiving of project and organizational records
  • Coach other John Holland employees on the records management systems, procedures and processes
  • Ensure the documents are managed in strict confidentiality
  • Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems and procedures

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Document Controller or similar role, with additional experience in administrative duties, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Proficient with document control and procurement software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of the tender and procurement processes within the construction industry.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration or Information Management is desirable
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • A team player with great work ethics
