About You and the Role

John Holland is currently looking to speak to a Project Development Manager to work as a key part of our Building team. 

Working with other stakeholders within the Pre-Construction team, the main this responsibility of this role is to manage and lead the overall delivery of the project tender submission so that there is the maximum likelihood of winning and successfully delivering the project

 

Responsibilities of the role include;

Tender management: 
o    Prepare various plans for project conversation and manage their implementation; 
o    Assign and manage resources to deliver the tender within budget, 
o    Prepare tender program and time and quality standards to the program; 
o    Monitor and guide workflow during the tender, review progress against delivery milestones and take effective remedial action as required

Tender development: 
o    Develop strategies for successful conversion of the prospect to a project; 
o    Interpret tender requirements accurately and fully; 
o    Develop and modify work processes, technology, or products to meet tender requirements; 
o    Identify commercial innovations to positively differentiate JH from competitors; 
o    Ensure tender complies with risk, safety, quality, environment and community management requirements; 
o    Ensure submissions are accurate and complete

Commercial and financial management: 
o    Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue;
o    Ensure that the tender is financially viable, margin expectations can be met and risk complies with corporate guidelines
o    Ensure all market data and prospect timing is up to date and accurate

Research:
o    Support the New Business Manager and Conversion lead in the identification of prospects
o    Support market sector research and prospect input into Client Management system
o    Ensure all market data and prospect timing is up to date and accurate
o    Participate in Win / Loss scenario planning and forecasting for NSW business  

Client relationship management: 
o    Support the Business Development Manager to develop and actively manage client and industry partner relationships;
o    Negotiate terms and conditions of the tender with the client 

People management: 
o    Provide direction, manage workloads, develop capability and foster a high performance tender team within a positive employee relations environment 

Stakeholder management:  
o    Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged; 
o    Partner with and coordinate the input of internal subject matter experts and external designers, vendors and sub-contractors to ensure an accurate and financially viable tender

Project launch: 
o    Lead or participate in post tender negotiations, contract formation, award and project launch; 
o    Ensure effective handover from the tender team to the delivery team;  
o    Support the Project Delivery Manager through the project launch

Feedback: 
o    Actively seek feedback from Clients and Project teams for project versus tender performance 
o    Review and report on tender performance 
o    Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures
 

What we are looking for;

  • Typical qualification and training (Diploma, Building/Construction, Project Management)
  • Experience working on complex projects valued over $100m 
  • Someone who is capable of interpreting drawings and offering VE solutions 
  • Someone who has had exposure to the tender process
  • Have a passion for winning work
