The Project
Are you ready to play a key role in delivering one of Sydney’s most transformative infrastructure projects? Sydney Metro West is a 24 kilometre underground railway connecting the Sydney and Parramatta CBDs, with stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays Precinct, Pyrmont, and Hunter Street in the Sydney CBD.
The Linewide project is the backbone of the Sydney Metro West, seamlessly connecting all its elements and delivering the critical rail infrastructure and systems needed for metro train operations.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Interface & Integration team on the our project Sydney Metro West Linewide. This role will see you work as prt of team and manage internal and external technical and construction interfaces across the project in accordance with systems, safety, engineering, safety assurance and integration requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage internal and external technical and construction interfaces across the project, ensuring compliance with systems, safety, engineering, safety assurance, and integration requirements.
- Facilitate coordination between various stakeholders, including design, engineering, construction, testing and commissioning teams, external cross-package contractors, and other interfacing parties.
- Proactively identify, manage, and resolve interface risks and issues to minimise project delays and disruptions.
- Develop and maintain interface registers and documentation to ensure traceability and compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with the TSMO team to ensure design and construction deliverables meet technical specifications and operational requirements.
- Lead design interface coordination meetings and workshops to ensure effective communication and alignment of objectives.
- Provide technical input and guidance to ensure that all interface related activities are delivered in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and project-specific requirements, including safety and quality assurance protocols.
- Support the team to address interface challenges and achieve project objectives.
- Strong technical proficiency with the ability to understand and communicate complex engineering and interface issues.
- High level of organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environmentA commitment to safety, quality, and achieving project excellence.
What We Are Looking For:
Qualification:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related)
- Rail industry safeworking competencies (e.g., Rail Industry Worker).
- Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Experience with nternal and external technical and construction interfaces.
- A strong knowledge of engineering, construction methods, and rail standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in a rail environment.
- Proven engineering experience across scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with major rail programs.
