The Project:
Sydney Metro West is a transformational 24 km underground railway connecting Sydney CBD to Parramatta, with stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street.
The Linewide package connects the entire system, delivering the critical rail infrastructure and technology that bring the metro network to life.
Project offices are located across several Sydney locations including the CBD, Clyde, Rosehill, The Bays and Burwood North.
The Role:
To drive sustainable outcomes and ensure the project creates value for the Sydney Metro West Linewide Project, our client and communities
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate compliance with contractual requirement as they relate to Sustainability
- Coordinate with interface contractors to align Sustainability requirements to achieve contract and rating tool compliance.
- Coordinate and provide day to day specialist sustainability support to internal stakeholders including the design and construction teams.
- Implement project data collection, auditing and review processes
- Promote an understanding of risks and opportunities related to sustainability for the project, ensuring well balanced long-term decision making is consistently applied
- Hold sustainability workshops with external and internal stakeholders
- Monitor sustainability consultants and the collection of sustainability information
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all sustainability requirements, ensuring management and staff are kept informed of any relevant changes to project requirements.
- Provide training to staff on sustainability matters such as assessment tool obligations and other requirements.
- Implementation of the Sustainability Management Plan.
- Mentor and support the development of project sustainability professionals within the team
- Perform all duties in accordance with the SMWLW policies, processes, systems and procedures
What We Are Looking For:
- Must have experience in ISC and using version 2.1
- Preferrable to have infrastructure project experience
- Preferable to have experience delivering a Green Star rating
- Attention to detail and very organised
- Minimum 5 years experience in Sustainability; tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering, Environment or Sustainability or equivalent.
